Frithe's Profile
Osteopath - Cranial & Structural
Specialising in pain & injuries; womens' health; babies & children
Frithë, which is pronounced Fritha, is a friendly and highly experienced osteopath with a Masters in Osteopathy degree from the British school of Osteopathy in London.
Alongside her general osteopathic practice supporting people of all ages with pain & injury rehabilitation, her specialist interests are women’s health, menstruality, babies and children. She has completed many post graduate courses, including paediatrics and cranial osteopathy with the Sutherland Cranial College.
She uses a wide variety of gentle osteopathic techniques to lessen pain and improve how the body works on all levels. These techniques include mainly cranial (which despite its name can be used on any part of the body both for children and adults), but also structural and intra-oral techniques tailored to suit the individual and their needs.
Each session is designed to reduce tensions and strains held in the body, and to encourage the body to maximise its inherent drive towards health and wellbeing.
Where useful, her approach includes basic nutritional advice. Frithë has seen great benefits from integrating a range of therapeutic approaches together and she can guide you on the most supportive additional therapies that will help you to reach your health goals In particular, she works closely with practitioners specialising in acupuncture, herbal medicine and homeopathy. She will also happily work alongside your doctor whenever required.
She first discovered the scope of osteopathy after having a baby who had regular osteopathic treatment to help support his complex health needs. He is now a 15 year old athlete competing at international level in transplant sport. He still loves his cranial osteopathy sessions! She also benefitted from regular treatment during this time, and as such recommends osteopathy not only for babies but also for parents who put their own needs aside so often.
She is studying towards her specialist postgraduate diploma in Woman's Health Osteopathy with the Molinari Institute of Health, alongside being on the Biodynamic Cranial Osteopathy pathway. She enjoys working both in private practice and in the community, where she previously established low cost clinics for people in recovery, and currently works part time with mASCot, supporting families with children with autistic spectrum conditions.
Outside of work Frithë loves canoeing, walking her dog in the woods and navigating the joys of parenting a teenager!
