Harriet's Profile
About Harret
Harriet qualified as a teacher of the Alexander Technique in 1999 with the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique and has been teaching it ever since to people from all walks of life. She aims to tailor each session to her client’s needs and to teach with clarity, empathy and a dose of fun.
She teaches one-on-one sessions, and occasional workshops and weekly classes. She has also run many bespoke seminars for a wide range of institutions and CPD courses for health professionals.
As her background is in university teaching and education (and because she loves singing), she also deals with the applications of the Alexander Technique to the voice and issues surrounding public speaking.
She is a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.
In addition to working in Brighton & Hove, she also maintains a private practice in Vienna (Austria) and has been a guest teacher in Malta and Croatia.
Harriet's book The Thinking Teacher’s Body: A Practical Guide to Teacher Well-Being, Vocal Health, and Development came out in 2015.
