Cost: £10 per week or £35 per month
Suitable for beginners and intermediate students, these gentle classes help body and mind by offering an excellent introduction to the East Asian practice widely known as Qi Gong. For intermediate level students, the classes will deepen and strengthen your practice.
Qi Gong classes combine a series of co-ordinated movements, breathing exercises and Eastern-inspired principles to relax and heal body and mind, often described as a form of moving meditation.
The classes are taught by Daniel Scott who is a highly qualified and experienced Chinese medicine practitioner. His practice integrates acupuncture, tuina massage and traditional Chinese herbs to create a broad and holistic approach to health and wellbeing. We are fortunate that Daniel has joined the Tree of Life team after relocating from London with his family.
"I first learned Dragon and Tiger Qi Gong form 10 years ago from Lineage holder Chris Ray Chappell and have found it enjoyable to practice and teach ever since. This qi gong set is easy to learn. The choreography combines relaxation and continuous movement, coordination and balance exercises. You will gain a deeper understanding of the body by working with core principles of posture, breath and balance. The classes help to create inner calm, increased energy and improved health in body and mind"
No specific level of fitness is required and the classes are suitable for complete beginners. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and soft-soled flat shoes. Socks or bare feet are also ok.
