Somatic Yoga Coach | Neuro Biomechanics Specialist | Somatic Experiencing® | MSc Psychology and Neuroscience of the Mind-Body Interface
Emily Kennedy Barnes is a dedicated Somatic Yoga coach specialising in trauma-sensitive somatic practices and neuroscience. Currently studying for an MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience of the Mind-Body Interface at King’s College London, Emily is conducting a clinical and lab-based study on the effects of somatic work with patients who have Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). Her research explores how body-mind therapies can influence neurological conditions, bridging the gap between ancient practices and modern neuroscience.
Emily integrates her expertise in neuro biomechanics with somatic practices, yoga and breath work, offering a holistic approach to emotional regulation and nervous system balance. Her work spans group workshops, individual coaching, and academic research, positioning her as a leading voice in somatic therapies and mind-body resilience.
Energising Sunrise Flow Yoga
Emily's yoga classes provide a nurturing experience that foster an ideal environment for self-care, empowerment and emotional wellbeing within a safe setting.
She is a 500 hour Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher with an additional 150+ hours of specialised training, who has studied under some of the yogi masters of our time including the illustrious Jason Crandell, Max Strom and Celest Pereira.
Emily offers a rich tapestry of experience in all of her classes and specialises in Vinyasa Flow, Somatic Yoga, Neuro Biomechanics for Yoga and Breath Work.
At the Tree of Life Centre, Emily teaches an Energising Sunrise Flow yoga class which is an ideal way to start you day.
