About Emily
Emily has been teaching Pilates for over 15 years in the Brighton and Hove area. She became passionate about Pilates during her Dance training, finding it beneficial in avoiding injuries and general physical problems dancers are prone to.
After completing her (BA Hons) Dance degree at Bretton Hall College, University of Leeds, Emily went on to train as a Pilates teacher in 2006 at The Place, London and is a fully qualified Pilates Foundation UK mat-work teacher.
The Pilates Foundation training is one of the most reputable and comprehensive teacher training courses in the world, qualifying her to teach a range of classes from beginners to dynamic advanced; 1:1, pregnancy and remedial/rehabilitation.
Until recently Emily has also been teaching A Level Dance for over 11 years at Brighton, Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College where she also completed her PGCE teacher training with the University of Brighton.
Her experience of teaching dance and interest in other body work such as yoga, gyro-tonics, Garuda and Alexander Technique have all influenced Emily's approach to teaching Pilates.
Emily has a calm, friendly approach but always strives to challenge individuals to develop and progress with the Pilates method.
